Great post! One small detail about Photosynth to make your examples even better:

You can prevent the ‘Click to view the synth’ state, and load it immediately upon popup if you the delayLoad parameter on the Photosynth embedding URL to be false Here’s the difference:

Here it is with delayLoad=true as you have it:

And here it is loading immediately:

Good point Steve re. the smooth edges and global rollout. That would be the moral choice

Wouldn’t it be better if they spent the $100m marketing campaign on smoothing over those rough edges, and performing the full global rollout?

I agree though, I have done an odd bing where I may have done a google before now, and it doesn’t totally suck (like LiveSearch did).
